Nate Mattson found his first guitar in the garage of a newly purchased house when he was 15. It was a terrible acoustic, but he loved it. He has played guitar in bands since he was fresh out of high-school. He was a founding member of Port Authority and has twice played at the Bayfront Blues festival. He was in Accidental Porn and with Knockout Jones until the start of The Very People. His musical influences include Rage Against the Machine, James Brown, Jeff Beck, Stevie Wonder, Funkedelic, and many others.
